Currently available Monday to Friday 8am- 2pm Seniors Coaching Seniors Volunteer Program We are seeking caring and compassionate seniors who are interested in helping to make patients hospital stay more comfortable. Currently available with flexible hours Bookcart Volunteers are responsible for bringing a library cart with books and magazines to patient floors. You may be assigned to an event that lasts six or seven hours.
Volunteers must be empathetic and have strong interpersonal and communication ability. Here are the Volunteer Assignments: These are the volunteer assignments for all schools in all divisions. Currently available Monday — Friday 9am — 5pm. The purpose of the program is to lessen the anxiety and frustration patients and families sometimes encounter with language barriers. Volunteers will help to lessen the anxiety and frustration a patient, family escort or visitor may experience with a friendly smile and positive conversation. Computer is helpful but not required. Make a copy for your volunteers and make sure they show up for their assignment before the event begins.
All volunteers must be supervised by campus staff or faculty as appropriate to the services performed. A copy of the Volunteer Identification Form shall be forwarded to the appropriate division executive. Please report to the Event Supervisor at the event location fifteen minutes before the event begins. The Emergency Services Department Caring Links Volunteer Program The Emergency Services Department Caring Links Volunteer Program is to provide a supportive, caring environment in the Emergency Services Department. Duties include filing, faxing, answering phones, data entry and typing. Background checks are required for all volunteers who perform work that involves direct contact with minor children.

Bilingual in English and Bengali, French Creole, Hindi, Punjabi, Spanish is a plus. Training and orientation classes will be held at Jamaica Hospital. The event supervisor determines the responsibilities of the volunteers and your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Volunteers provide a wide range of clerical support for departments throughout the Hospital. Such insurance shall be primary coverage for the volunteer.
